Interview Techniques

Firstly, to prepare for your interview, try and obtain a job description of the role you are applying for. This will give you some idea of the specific competencies that the employer will expect you to have.

Try to prepare examples of previous situations you have dealt with or been in.
For example, a key competency for the role may be “leadership”.
Try to think of an example where you have demonstrated such a competency within your previous roles.  The employer will be looking for clear and concise answers to assure them that you the necessary competencies they require for the role.

Through the interaction which will take place during the interview, the employer will be searching out your
