Are you looking for your first role in structural engineering in the UK?
We are currently working with a small architectural design consultancy that are looking for a graduate or junior structural engineer to join their practice to do the structural engineering calculations associated with their projects. The projects they tend to work with are loft conversions, rear/ side extensions and the occasional small new build property. In this role you will be expected to be able to do structural loading calculations, simple structural connection design as well as some structural engineering drawings using AutoCAD. As you will be the only structural engineer in the practice you will need to be confident being able to do simple calculations with minimal support so ideally we are looking for a confident graduate or someone with a small amount of experience either in the UK or overseas. Having said this there may be an opportunity for support from a local engineering practice with some training, your designs will also be checked by building control on submission. For the position you will ideally have a degree or HND in Civil or Structural engineering, although if you have done an architectural engineering degree that covers structural engineering this would also be considered. So if this sounds like a role you would be interested in please send us your CV to cblunden(at)rgb.co.uk or respond to this advert.
