Transport Consultant (3 - 6 years experience)

The company is an independent transport planning consultancy that works nationwide providing advice to developers, land owners, retailers and community based organisations, occupiers and local authorities on all transport planning aspects of projects.
Based in the heart of London the staff have been involved in the transport planning of some of the largest and most complex development projects in the UK and they are seeking a Junior Transport Planner to join the team.

The right Candidate: 

  • Have 3 - 6 years experience working in development setting 
  • A relevant degree (e.g. Geography, Civil Engineering, Urban Design, Transport Planning)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Have an understanding of the transport related documents that accompany planning  applications
  • Have some use of analytical software packages. TRICS/ AutoCAD, Junction 9/10


Job Specification:


•    Ability to write detailed transport assessments, technical notes, Travel Plans
•    An understanding of transport plans related to developments. 
•    General knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges or a willingness to learn.
•    Attend technical meetings with clients alongside senior planners
•    Working closely with senior members of staff in the winning & delivery of work.
•    Preparation of figures for reports, swept path assessment, analysis of data, and drawings of transport improvements including junction designs. (This is led by supervisors/senior planners). 
•    Must have good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to resolve problems or issues to support the delivery of projects or design objectives.

Salary: £33K - £40K Depending on experience
