Job Title: Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £40k - £50k

A building services design consultancy are looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their office based in London.

The team structure ensures quality mentoring and coaching, synchronised to your development as you grow your knowledge and working experience.

There projects cover all sectors of the construction industry including Education, Leisure, Retail, Healthcare, Residential and Public Buildings.

The companies continued success has created opportunities to expand, with an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join the experienced and talented Engineering Team. 

Experience and skills required:

• Excellent time management
• Experience of design solutions from conception through to completion including calculations, drawings, specifications, etc aligned to RIBA stages and BSRIA BG6Qualification with a Building Services degree or higher educational qualification (HNC/HND)
• Revit software experience is essential
• IES modelling would be an advantageous skill
• Good oral and written communication

Responsibilities:

• Site surveys
• Feasibility studies
• Concept/detailed design
• Design including heat gain and loss calculations, sizing of mechanical plant (boilers/heaters, air con units, refrigeration units, pipes, duct work, fans), pressure drop calculations
• Attending design and client meetings
• Writing specifications
• Writing tender documents
• Attending site during installation, testing and commissioning
