Our client operates as a distinguished engineering and construction firm, specializing in comprehensive turnkey structural solutions. Their expertise spans a broad spectrum, encompassing enabling works, intricate structural modifications, civil engineering and infrastructure projects, reinforced concrete basements, sub and superstructure construction, and structural steelwork. They have dedicated business units specializing in concrete cutting, passive fire protection, and waste management.

Qualifications Required:

  • A diploma or degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software, including Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or Advance Steel.
  • A robust understanding of structural steel detailing and fabrication procedures.
  • Familiarity with pertinent design codes, standards, and regulations, such as Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Competent use of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel & Word).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse and interpret design drawings, specifications, and engineer's directives to create precise and comprehensive approval drawings, site drawings, fabrication drawings, and 3D models for structural steel components.
  • Ensure that all drawings and models comply with the relevant design codes, standards, and project requirements, such as Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Collaborate closely with design managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve any design or detailing challenges and to guarantee an efficient translation of design intent into fabrication drawings.
  • Develop and maintain bills of materials, cutting lists, and other essential documentation needed for the fabrication and installation of steel structures.
  • Maintain open communication with fabrication and erection teams to promptly address inquiries or challenges that may arise during the production and installation of steel components.
  • Actively participate in project meetings and provide regular progress updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuously enhance your knowledge of industry best practices, software, and technological advancements to improve work efficiency and quality.
  • Work in tandem with colleagues to uphold CAD standards, procedures, and workflows, ensuring consistency and efficiency within the department.
