This company is a multidisciplinary environmental consultants seeking an enthusiastic and motivated civil/drainage engineer. The candidate will have a relevant degree (i.e. Engineering) and be motivated to gain chartership (i.e. ICE, CIWEM, etc).

This role is an opprtunity to sit alongside and learn from experienced professionals whilst receiving necessary training and sponsorship towards relevant professional memberships. Flexibility to work from home would be subject to completion of a probation period and at line managers discretion.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing team, supporting Project Managers delivering flood risk and drainage strategies for a range of projects across the sector.

Day to day activities include:

  • Provide input into surface water/foul drainage strategies, and highway design. 
  • Provide input into technical reports and support the preparation of fee proposals.
  • Consult the water regulators, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare risk assessments, undertake site walkovers, and oversee CCTV or other survey works.
  • Liaise and provide advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage time and budgets under guidance from line manager.

Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in drainage designs and flood risk assessments
  • Experience with drainage policy and guidance.
  • Experience with drainage design software (Microdrainage, Causeway, CAD).  
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, liaising with clients, and statutory authorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferable:
  • Driving license.
