Position: Geo-environmental Consultant

As a Geo-environmental Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting ground investigations
  • Generating reports
  • Managing small-scale project quotes and management, and assisting in the training and mentoring of junior staff members.
This role involves direct interaction with clients and regulatory bodies, and participation in varied and challenging projects within our expanding multidisciplinary consultancy. It's an opportunity to develop your technical, strategic, and commercial skills within a unique company. You will contribute to our team by supporting client-side project management and land remediation contracting services.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Phase 1 desk studies, including site visits.
  • Perform Phase 2 site investigations, including contractor supervision, and sampling and logging of exploratory holes.
  • Conduct gas and groundwater monitoring.
  • Write technical reports, including soil, gas, and groundwater risk assessments, and outline remediation strategies.
  • Produce quotes and manage small-scale investigations, including SI design, budgeting, and use of the financial system.
  • Liaise with clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Mentor and train junior staff.
Requirements:
  • Degree in geology, geography, environmental science, geophysics, geochemistry, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • 2-3 years of experience conducting Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigations.
  • Experience in technical report writing and consultancy.
  • High motivation for this opportunity.
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with line management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full UK driving license.

Salary:
  • Up to £33,000 (dependent on experience)
