Graduate Electrical Design Engineer
South London Building Services Engineering Consultancy (Hybrid Working Policy)
£25k - £30k depending on experience

A building services engineer consultancy that provide a comprehensive array of design and management services, are looking for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a design role in building services following obtaining a relevant engineering degree.

Their team comprises trained professionals, including Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers, and Low Carbon Energy Assessors. Utilising cutting-edge CAD Software and dynamic thermal simulation modelling software, they predict and design the performance of mechanical and electrical systems within buildings, ensuring optimal internal comfort temperatures and energy efficiency. Collaborating closely with architects, they modify building designs to align with clients' project aspirations.

As an Graduate Electrical Design Engineer, your duties will involve:
  • Executing designs in accordance with clients' specifications, building regulations, and British standards.
  • Assisting on projects typically involving Commercial Office Refurbishments, New Build Schemes, and High-end Refurbishments.
  • Collaborating on designs spanning stages 1-7 of the BSRIA, often within a team environment while also capable of working independently or supporting Senior Engineers.
  • Coordinating with both internal and external design teams.
  • Generating detailed drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Conducting calculations for Lighting (using Dialux Evo), Cable Sizing (with Amtech), Load Schedules, etc.
  • Coordinating with mechanical counterparts to ensure internal coordination of work prior to distribution.
  • Ensuring your work undergoes scrutiny by both yourself and senior staff before dissemination.
  • Attending meetings and providing support to senior staff during such engagements.
  • Assisting and mentoring graduate/junior engineers.
  • Contributing to the company's culture and upholding its values.
