Overview
We are representing a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy for the built environment. They are seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding Building Services Engineering team in London. Their multi-disciplinary teams provide strategic advice, engineering design, and project delivery for new build, extension, and refurbishment projects.
The London Building Services team is growing under the guidance of a highly respected director with extensive experience in business development, delivering diverse projects, and building strong teams. Current Projects
The team is currently delivering a range of high-profile projects, including a large-scale data centre overseas and a £100 million commercial project in England, alongside projects across automotive, retail, and residential sectors. This variety provides exposure to complex engineering challenges and opportunities to make a tangible impact on high-value projects.
The Role
As Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will take a senior leadership role within the London team, managing and delivering complex projects while mentoring and developing engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and delivery of mechanical systems from concept to completion
- Managing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring technical excellence
- Maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development
- Driving innovation, risk management, and efficient project delivery
About You
The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Engineer (CEng – CIBSE or IMechE) with:
- 10–15 years’ experience in UK-based building services consultancy
- Proven leadership in mechanical design and project management
- Strong technical knowledge and client-facing communication skills
- Experience mentoring and managing multi-level teams
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, NBS, and EDSL Tas/IES VE
- Experience with steam systems and clean/dry room environments (desirable)
- £80,000 – £90,000 salary, plus benefits
- Hybrid working (typically three days in the office, two from home, with flexibility considered)
