Graduate Highways Designer

London

Salary – Up to £30 000 (DOE)

Our client is a leading independent Transport Planning and Design Consultancy based in London and are looking to add a new Graduate Highways Designer to join their team to accommodate for their growth plans for the near future.

You will be joining a tight knit group of engineering professionals who consistently deliver outstanding results for their clients and have a reputation built on integrity and an expert understanding of the sector.

The role offers you the chance to work on exciting highway projects and as well as excellent opportunities to gain experience in lead design, project and financial management along with client liaison.

Responsibilities

  • Developing highway designs in accordance with Local Design Guides, MFS and DMRB and using AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
  • Reporting to the Senior Engineer or Infrastructure Team Leader
  • Assist in the preparation of resource plans, delivery programs, and fee proposals.
  • Produce technical design information including drawings and specifications
Skills
  • Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in Highway design including Section 278 and Section 38 processes
  • Experience using AutoCAD required.
  • Civils 3D software package experience would be desirable
Qualifications and Experience
  • BEng, MEng, BSc or higher degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Keenness to work towards Incorporated or Chartered status and membership of a relevant professional institution (ICE/CIHT).
  • Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
