Our client is a chartered structural engineer and design consultancy who provide structural design services, training, authoring, technical editing and have a specialist knowledge in the design of reinforced concrete and they have a new opportunity for a recently chartered Senior Structural Engineer to support the Technical Director in developing the business through expansion of their existing head office or establishing a new office in the south-east.

In this role you will be responsible for the undertaking of structural design for new buildings, extensions and alterations to existing properties as well as investigating and evaluating structural conditions in existing properties and writing reports, developing graduate engineers, working with the Technical Director to manage and develop the business and preparing fee proposals.

The ideal candidate will be a Chartered (or near chartered) Structural Engineer with experience in the design of structural elements using concrete, steel, timber and masonry, have experience in the design of refurbishment, or alterations to, existing buildings, the ability to conceive the structural arrangements for proposed projects, and be able to access loft spaces, lift carpets or make small openings to expose structural elements in domestic properties (or other similar investigative work), you will have excellent drawing skills and be able to confidently prepare and present written reports and ability to use CAD software.
