£35/37k

35 hour week 09.00 till 17.00 (1 hour lunch break a day)

30 days holiday + 8 public holidays

THE ROLE :


 


The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Cosford. Our purpose is to share the RAF story, past, present and future - using the stories of its people and our collections in order to engage, inform and inspire. Our overall vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story – the people who shape it and its place in our lives.


 

The Estates Technician will be central to the London Estates Team managing the day to day operations of planned and reactive maintenance contractors, covering all estates services and providing a first line reactive maintenance service supported by the Estates Maintenance Assistant. The Estates Technician will facilitate technical support to projects and events all within a safe and managed environment. The Estates Technician will hold a recognised electrical qualification enabling them to act as the site Responsible Person for all electrical installation and maintenance.

 


Working on site carrying out maintenance on all building services systems including Fire Alarm; CCTV; Intruder Detection; Sprinkler Systems; HVAC.

 

  • Significant relevant experience in building services maintenance, management and refurbishment with previous experience of managing a site estates maintenance operation.
  • Suitably qualified to act as ‘Responsible Person’ electrically on the site.
  • Ability to understand a strategic approach to estates planning and business development.
  • Basic knowledge of all relevant statutory requirements, including planning, listed building and building control processes.
  • Experience in managing service provision by external providers under contract to achieve high performance and value for money.
 


The ideal candidate will be 18th edition qualified and have there testing and inspection.
