Junior Estimator – Air Conditioning Division
Location: Sevenoaks Kent
Salary: £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Reports To: Technical Service Manager & Business Unit Director
Division: Mechanical Services – Air Conditioning


About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our Air Conditioning Division. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an air conditioning improver or HVAC background professional who is looking to transition into an office-based estimating career.

You will support the preparation of accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial HVAC remedial works and callouts. Working closely with Technical Service Managers and field engineers, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in pricing, supplier negotiation, and project costing within a fast-paced mechanical services environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for air conditioning and mechanical remedial works
  • Review engineers’ reports and scope works for pricing purposes
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
  • Compare supplier pricing and support procurement decisions
  • Order materials for accepted quotations
  • Maintain accurate records of quotations and cost breakdowns
  • Learn and adhere to company estimating procedures and industry standards
  • Support the team with administrative tasks related to pricing and job costings

Key Skills & Attributes
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Good understanding of air conditioning / HVAC systems (essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (estimating software experience advantageous)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Commercial awareness or willingness to develop it


Qualifications & Experience
  • Background in Air Conditioning / HVAC (engineering or technical support experience preferred)
  • Relevant technical qualification (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar) advantageous
  • Previous experience within construction or building services beneficial but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence
