Junior Operations Manager (Assistant to Operations Director)


My client are a young, exciting property maintenance company based in Essex who currently employ over 40 engineering staff and 60 staff in total.

They specialise building services within Domestic & Commercial Properties.

Including: Plumbing & Heating, Carpentry, Electrical, Gas, Handyman Work, General Fabric, Tiling, Painting & Decorating, Paving & Brickwork, Drainage, Locksmiths & More. 

THE JOB – Junior Operations Manager (Assistant to Operations Director)

Due to an increase in work load, the Operations Director is now seeking an Assistant / Junior Operations Manager to assist him with his day to day duties.

The right candidate will be a hard worker, hungry to learn and have a desire to progress within the business.

You will come from a trades background with a minimum of 2 years experience and must have a solid understanding of Building Fabric along with being familiar being on Building Sites.

You must also have a good understanding of Microsoft excel.

This position is office based, however the job role will include weekly site visits.

Working Hours 8am – 5pm (may vary due to site access)

Job Expectations:

  • Support Ops Director & attend site visits, walking round, taking information down on the site, what needs to be done etc.
  • Meet with Customers & Clients (with Ops Director to begin with, then eventually by themselves)
  • Come back to the office and organise the quotations with Ops Director (training will be given if needed)
  • Meet with the engineer and tell them what needs to be done and direct the labour.
Other duties/skills to include but not limited to:
  • Sourcing materials.
  • Some knowledge of quoting/pricing.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to think ahead, plan and adapt to situations accordingly.
  • Organising labour and liaising with the admin team from job booking stage through to completion.
  • Viewing new jobs and gaining information needed for the quotation process.
  • Attending regular planned meetings with Director , reporting directly to operations director.
  • Good IT skills using basic office software. (Training will be provided for specific software.)
  • Circa £28,000 – to be reviewed after 3 months.
