Mechanical Project Manager – Bedfordshire 50/55k


My Client are a Plumbing and heating engineering company based in Bedford, mainly covering the Hertfordshire Bedfordshire and North London borders running installation projects, service and maintenance to its private residential sector clients.


The role has become available for a mechanical project manager to manage gas and plumbing installation projects across 8 sites within the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire counties.


The projects are mainly New build private housing plots ranging from 100k to 1 million, you will be in charge of running the schedule of works for plumbing and heating installation.


A typical week would be working from site 3 days a week, 1 day working from home and 1 day from the company’s head office carrying out all your paperwork duties.

Main duties :

• Managing multiple engineering teams across multiple projects on a daily basis.

• Provide monthly labour forecasts for all Projects and share with the business
• Monitor the Gas and Plumbing  compliance across all Projects.
• Implement the various internal procedures as laid out in the QMS system.
• Attend Periodic management meetings with fellow Commercial Managers, Technical Managers and Health & Safety Mangers to ensure that any good or bad practices happening elsewhere in the business are communicated back into their Line projects.
• Undertake the formal appraisal of the Managers, Supervisors and Apprentices.

• Review Budgets and PL (jointly and severally with the commercial team).
• Review the Subcontractor Payrun (jointly and severally with the commercial team).
• Health and Safety (Jointly and severally with the Health and Safety Manager
• Final snagging and handover management across sites

• Plumbing/Heating/Pipe fitting background, qualified to a suitable level.
• Experience of running plumbing and heating installation projects from concept to completion.
• Residential Project delivery experience.
