My client are a Building Services & Specialist Contractor who have been established in 2003 who have 8 Offices throughout the UK.

As a business, they employ 300+ Staff Nationally and are expected to Turnover £55Mil+ this year.
Working within the Commercial & Public Sectors, their sites are generally within London, Surrey, Kent & Sussex.

Due to growth of business, they are now seeking an Electrically Biased MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their Team in their Crawley Office.

THE JOB – MEP Quantity Surveyor (Electrically Biased)

Monday – Friday / 8am - 4pm

You will be working directly below the Commercial Manager preparing estimates and running small projects commercially.

Projects ranging from £200k - £3,000,000 (along with some smaller ones).

We are looking for an experienced QS/ Estimator that can both manage and run the Tender Process of either an Electrical Project or prepare Electrical & Services Packages as part of a larger tender.

Once Tenders have been won the candidate will need the commercial skills to manage the project and commercially support the operation team:

Tendering:

  • To manage and prepare Tender commercial tender submissions that ensure full compliance with the Tender Documentation, as well as preparing Technical submissions with support from Operations where needed.
  • Tenders to be backed up with quotes and full build up explaining a strategy and route to ensure agreed margin.
  • Be able to review and check Contract Documents commercially and complete
  • Experience of NEC forms or similar forms of Contract required
  • This role may involve foreign travel for Bidders Days

Commercially:
  • Manage the commercial resources (people and finance) of the assigned projects to meet and improve planned gross margin through the placement and Control of contracts, labour, materials and subcontracts.
  • Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement Concept policies for Risk management.
  • Support the authorisation and submission of project variations.
  • Authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, Material and plant orders.
  • Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers in line with accounting procedures and dates.
  • Implement all of policies including those for SHE and risk management. To promote company values towards its customers in order to meet or exceed their expectations, and in line with the companies vison and goals
