Civil Engineer /Senior Civil Engineer

Cambridge

Salary: £45k(DOE)

A highways, drainage, infrastructure and utility consultancy are on the lookout for a Civil or Senior Engineer looking to join a growing exciting role in a small, expanding Cambridge based civil engineering consultancy.

This business is involved with design of all types of civil engineering infrastructure relating to highways and drainage, undertaking pre-planning reports such as flood risk assessments, to detailed design of highway and drainage networks.

Duties


-          Preparation of compliant surface water and sustainable urban drainage strategy reports to support planning applications.


-          Preparation of compliant flood risk assessment reports to support planning applications.


-          Preparation of compliant utility assessment reports to support planning applications.


-          Preparation of compliant private and adoptable (S104 of the Water Industry Act 1991) drainage designs for technical approval and construction.


-          Preparation of compliant private and adoptable (S38 / S278 of the Highways Act 1980) highway designs for technical approval and construction.


-          Undertake Autocad and 3D drafting / modelling in relation to highway and drainage projects in an efficient and timely manner.


-          Attending site and design team meetings as necessary to support projects.

 

Requirements


-          The candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a UK consultancy office undertaking a highway and drainage design role.


-          The candidate will be expected to be able to check their own work at times and of others and take the lead preparing planning reports such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies, working closely with clients to ensure projects are delivered to their expectations in terms of quality time and budget.


-          Competent and highly efficient in the use of AutoCAD


-          Will ideally hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related subject


-          Site 3D / Causeway Flow experience would be advantageous


-          A member of the Institute of Civil Engineers or working towards it ,would be advantageous


-          A valid UK driving license
