Civil Design Engineer

Edinburgh or Glasgow

Salary: £40k(DOE)

This international multi-disciplined consultancy are an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services.

They are looking for an experienced Roads Designer/Civil Engineer is sought to join and support the Edinburgh Infrastructure team which is part of their North sub-region.  They have an opportunity for an individual to join their team and take a leading role in the delivery of technical solutions across a wide range of civil engineering Infrastructure projects.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:


-          Knowledge and previous experience in the design and/or construction of civil engineering solutions using the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB). Experience of working on trunk road projects and/ or site developments/ RCC/ planning applications is desirable.


-          Drainage design experience using MicroDrainage or equivalent is desirable and knowledge and understanding of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) is essential.


-          Experience in 3D modelling of civil engineering projects using an industry-recognised software system e.g. Civils3D, OpenRoads.


-          Strong interest in digital skills (e.g. modelling, automation, visualisations). 


-          An understanding and experience of working within current BIM standards.


-          Experience of using ArcGIS or equivalent is desirable.


-          An interest in developing knowledge and understanding of other design disciplines such as geotechnics, drainage and general civil engineering to develop coordinated design solutions.

Qualifications


-          Working towards Chartered Status or Chartered Civil Engineer Chartered Status


-          Civil Engineering Master’s degree or equivalent.
