Accounts Assistant

Crayford, Kent

£24-27k depending on experience and qualifications

My client are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team in Crayford, Kent.

You will have a thorough working knowledge of Sage Line 50 Accounts and Sage payroll packages and strong commercial experience to pick up the core job duties required in this position.


  • Running Sage 50 payroll
  • Managing and reconciling Accounts for 2 companies using Sage Line 50 Accounts
  • Using Sage Pay to make payments as required
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Credit Control
  • Supplier/Customer Invoicing - in and out daily
  • Preparing Monthly Management Accounts/WIPS/P&L Reports/Budget Spreadsheets
  • Weekly Expenses
  • Month End and year end journals
  • Petty Cash
  • Credit Card Expenses and reconciliation
  • Send out monthly statements to customers
  • Match supplier invoices for component suppliers and subcontractors using Big Change system
  • Investigating and solving any discrepancies for price/quantity with suppliers
  • Dealing with supplier and customer queries as and when received.
  • Allocate and post manual payments to the relevant supplier account
  • Follow up on supplier statements
  • Issue chasing letters where required
  • Any other general accounts and administration duties as and when required
Experienced required
  • Previous experience of working as an Accounts Assistant
  • Experience with the use of Sage 50, Sage Payroll, Sage Pay
  • Experience with the use of IT systems e.g. Word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint
  • An advanced skill level of Microsoft Office in particular, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Salary & Package
  • £24-27k depending on experience and qualifications
  • Working Hours Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
