THE JOB

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Junior contracts manager to join a progressing and growing company.

This role is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and will initially be assisting the Director, Projects and contracts manager office based. You will be getting to know the business and learning your day to day duties and after an initial qualifying period start to run your own P&L and team.

The successful candidate will have fantastic scope to develop and the opportunity to progress their position with a roofless ceiling.

The ideal candidate will have come from an engineer background and is based close to the office within South East London / Kent.  Some experience within a similar position is also desired but not a must.


Job Description:
  • Provide day to day management, support and technical assistance to the field-based engineers to enable them to complete their daily duties.
  • Be the initial contact for the engineers within your team.  Communicate back when necessary to your line manager
  • Price and run small projects where required
  • Price PPM contracts – attend site to survey, complete costing sheets and quote on CRM system.  Quotes to be signed off by contract manager
  • Mobilise PPM contracts – following the company process and checklist form you will attend site to update the asset register in full, write up 60-day report, create RAMS, arrange manufacturer’s instructions and more.
  • Carry out audits on other engineers/subcontractors works and sites
  • Be involved in conducting regular team meetings –you will be asked to organise, assist in agenda and lead the meetings.
  • Help resolve all contract related problems, ensuring KPIs are met and must always adhere to the Company’s operational and safety standards .
  • Supervise and liaise with engineers ensuring efficient and effective completion of planned and reactive jobs, as well as complete the relevant paperwork and/or electronic data.
  • Manage ONWH works – oversee a team to ensure the works are completed correctly etc
  • Attend client meetings to build a strong customer relationship. Where necessary and provide reports to contract manager to use for client meetings
  • You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience of dealing with clients at all levels.
  • Ensure that all works are always managed to achieve client satisfaction 
  • To ensure that all technical procedures are fully adhered to ensuring compliance with accreditations and Health & Safety at Work Regulations
  • Be manager on call
  • Perform to agreed KPIs for the role
  • Hit sales targets – quoted works, works won
  • Carry out HR duties – appraisals, disciplinary’s, interviewing of new staff, assist in new starters/leavers, return to works
 

Background/Experience
  • Experience in a supervisory or trainee contract manager role an advantage
  • Trade background in Heating/Air Conditioning/Electrical an advantage
  • Experience with the use of IT systems e.g. Word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint
