Job Purpose
The Senior Mech PM is responsible for delivering the highest quality of engineering services and customer satisfaction. The role includes the management of all project engineers and ensuring delivery of all works to quality and financial targets. The postholder will contribute to the company’s growth strategies including leading pricing of all major installation work.
Duties and responsibilities
The post-holder will:
• Lead and manage up to 4 high performing installation teams supported by project manager(s) to ensure delivery of all installation and major works on time and to standards agreed with clients
• Undertake site visits for purposes including: developing tenders / quotes, providing expert
technical advice to the project teams or clients, quality control/assurance of all works and
customer service
• Lead on the sourcing and completion of all tenders and high value pricing for all projects
agreeing a revenue target annually with the MD
• Ensure all project engineers are fully qualified, up to date with regulation requirements and
training, hold agreed job descriptions and contracts, undertake an annual review, and are
routinely provided with feedback on performance
• Ensure all works meet the company’s required standards including project plans, RAMS, and comply with all H&S obligations and any other requirements and agreed with customers
• Ensure all planned work is scheduled with an appropriate project engineer, equipment and
parts, in advance and in accordance with the contracts with customers
• Ensure all ‘project’ engineers are fully utilised and the work they carry out is billable within the contracted hours
• Ensure that project plans and budgets including cashflow forecasts, are agreed with the MD prior to commencement of works
• Participate in a monthly meeting of all engineers to: create and implement new policies and
procedures, review any health and safety issues, engage all staff in business development
and quality improvement, in line with the Integrated Business Plan
• Work with the MD and Service Manager to recruit new/additional engineers and ensure
induction process for all engineers comply with all regulatory requirements and company
• Ensure all health and safety matters including all incident and accidents including those are
recorded and appropriate action is taken
Ensure all engineers comply with appropriate standards such as: risk assessments, method
statements, inspection reports and commissioning reports. Routinely reporting adverse
matters to the MD
• Respond to customer enquiries and complaints, ensuring accurate records are maintained on all relevant IT systems and responses are provided
• Actively contribute to the development of the company’s strategic growth plan identifying new methods of income, cost control, or other innovative solutions
• Work effectively with all members of staff and contribute to the corporate objectives and the development of a strong corporate team approach
• Previous relevant experience in leading major installation and projects up to 1.5 million
• Evidence of delivering high quality service to a significant number of customers
• Demonstrable understanding of leading, managing and motivating people
• Demonstrable understanding of commercial contracts
• Evidence of building constructive relationships
• Evidence of business development skills
• Demonstrable understanding of compliance with H&S, legal obligations and company policies

£70,000.00 ( Including car allowance/company car)
